It takes a lot to make The Grinch grin, but we think we might have made it happen. Actually, we didn’t – that honor goes to the folks of Hurricane, West Virginia in Putnam County, with their beautiful, festive Christmas light display at Valley Park: Yuletide in the Park. It’s a local favorite December activity, and has been for years. If you don’t already head this way each year to see the display, make it a new tradition!
Christmas looks a little (okay, a lot) different this year in many ways. But one thing that hasn’t changed? Christmas lights. We can still hang Christmas lights in our yards, and we can still drive around after dark, enjoying the many beautiful lights others have hung.

And while we enjoy driving through neighborhoods looking at all the decorations, sometimes it’s nice to find an even more formal light display…like Yuletide in the Park at Valley Park in Hurricane, West Virginia.

That’s a look of marveling on his face, isn’t it? With The Grinch, it can be hard to tell…but we’re pretty sure. Yes. Definitely. He’s definitely marveling.

The display stays up throughout the month of December, so you still have some time to see it!

Most of the displays at Yuletide in the Park are outside this year, and social distancing is encouraged. For the few events that are happening inside the activity center, masks and temperature checks are required. As always, admission is free, and there’s plenty to see and lots of fun to be had at this festive holiday attraction!
