One easy way to spot a true Oklahoman is to simply listen to how they pronounce certain city names. Can they pronounce Ouachita (pronounced wash-i-tah) correctly? - Prague

- Wynnewood

- Poteau
Clinton Steeds/flickr Poteau pronounced “po toe” is located in extreme southeast Oklahoma and is most well known for having the world’s tallest hill. Don’t let this quirky name deter you from visiting this charming town.
- Checotah
Jimmy Emerson, DVM/Flickr Checotah pronounced “Sheh-cow-tuh” is most famous for being the home of American Idol winner Carrie Underwood. But even the biggest Underwood fan probably still struggles to pronounce this one.
