Of all the places we love to visit in New Hampshire, it’s often the simple ones that we like the best. Sure, the big names like Franconia and the White Mountains offer some serious beauty, but it’s important to remember that the Granite State is full of that same beauty in unexpected places. The hike we’re telling you about today is located in a state park that some might overlook. But it’s worth the trip!

The wonderful Boulder Trail is located within Pawtuckaway State Park in Nottingham. The park, open all day, offers tons of different landscapes to enjoy.

While the park has an entire network of trails, we love the 2.8-mile Boulder Trail for its views and the impressive boulders that give the route its name.

Along the trail, there are towering boulders and it’s not uncommon to see people climbing.

These photos hardly to it justice. You’ll feel small looking up at these gargantuan stones.

And hiking among them will remind you just how large and in-charge mother nature is!

But that’s not all we love about this trail. There are so many different landscapes in which to get lost, including tall trees that absolutely shine in the autumn.

The state park is located along the banks of Pawtuckaway Lake and the trail provides views of Neal’s Cove, a small tucked away area of the water.

Things here are calm and peaceful. You might even feel like you’re in a different country!

Most of all, we just love these views. Disappear from your daily life for the day and enjoy the peace and ease that comes with looking out over the water.
