Life in Montana is pretty fantastic. And there’s really no better reminder of that than standing at the top of one of our majestic overlooks, taking in all the scenery. If you’re heading to Big Sky Resort anytime soon, don’t forget to enjoy the views from the top of Lone Peak. We’re lucky to have such an incredible overlook right here in our backyard.
Lone Peak is the highest overlook in Montana, with a height of 11,166 feet with a vertical drop of 4,350 feet.

Big Sky Resort is open for snow sports from Thanksgiving weekend until mid-April.

You can also hike to the top of Lone Peak, although it isn’t easy.
