At 43.6 miles, the Tanglefoot Trail is the longest rail-trail in Mississippi. It’s also one of the most popular, attracting people from around the globe.

The trail runs from Houston, MS to New Albany, MS, and is paved/improved throughout, making it suitable for walking, biking, and skating. It’s also wheelchair accessible.

At mile marker 19.3, you’ll find Algoma.

The tiny town is home to about 600 residents and its namesake country store, which just so happens to be located along the Tanglefoot Trail.

Because of its proximity to the trail, it’s a popular stop for hikers and bikers, looking to stock up on supplies, such as bottled water.
