Rated as moderately difficult, Wheeler Mountain Trail is great for both advanced hikers and families hiking with kids. Parts of the trail tend to the steeper side, but most of the trail is very manageable and enjoyable.

We recommend hiking Wheeler Mountain in the fall during fall foliage (usually the second week of October). The trail and views of Mt. Pisgah and the Willoughby State Forest are just gorgeous when the trees start to change colors.

There are plenty of twists and turns going up this trail, but don’t worry, the incline looks worse than it actually is. Plus, you won’t want to miss out on the incredible views at the top.
