Couples once retreated to this famous swingers resort to live out their fantasies. Now, the legendary Penn Hills resort is quietly falling into ruin. The resort was built in 1944 by Italian immigrants Frances and Charles Paolillo. Before becoming a swingers retreat, the resort actually started as a family-friendly restaurant and bar.

During the 1960s and 1970s, free-spirited swingers flocked to the mountain resort to eat, drink and play.

The resort was famous for its heart-shaped Jacuzzis, mirrored rooms and circular beds.

Eventually, swinging went out of fashion and the resort slipped into a decline. Though it stayed open until 2009, towards the end guests complained that conditions in the hotel had gone steeply downhill.

Today, the resort is being slowly reclaimed by nature. Ivy creeps along bedroom walls, paint peels off the walls and the famous velvet furnishings are covered in dust. Still, the resort maintains an air of cheeky glamour.
