In 1927, the owners sold the Weasku Inn to a local fishing guide named William Gibson, and it soon became a well-known retreat for Hollywood elites. Walt Disney, David Niven, and Bing Crosby were just a few of the celebrities who fell in love with this magical place.
Weasku Inn Historic Resort/Facebook Clark Gable was one of Weasku Inn’s biggest fans. Over the years, he visited with three different wives, include the beautiful actress Carol Lombard. When she died, he visited Weasku to mourn her passing, staying for three weeks in one of the inn’s rooms. Mr. Gable continued to visit Weasku Inn until 1960, when he died.
Today, overnight guests can still sleep in the lodge’s room #4 where Clark Gable once stayed. Like all of the lodge’s rooms, it’s located on the top floor and offers vaulted ceilings and a queen-sized bed.
