As much as we love summers in Montana, there’s something about the early autumn air that makes us especially thankful to live in the Treasure State (realistically, it’s probably the knowledge that the cold and snow are coming, so we need to enjoy the outdoors while we can). While there are plenty of places to peep the early fall colors in our beautiful state, we’re especially fond of Frenchtown Pond State Park. Check it out in mid-late September and you’ll see exactly what we mean.

Frenchtown is a tiny town in Missoula County that is often overlooked.

The park’s small spring-fed lake is the main attraction.
