Summer’s moving along pretty quickly, isn’t it? Before you know it, we’ll be toasting the final days of the season. A fun, family-friendly event is coming to Pittsburgh in those waning days of summer and the first days of fall. Floating Cinema, a social distancing friendly outing in Pittsburgh, arrives in mid-September, and you won’t want to miss it.

Mark your calendar for the week of September 16, 2020. That’s when Floating Cinema, hosted by Beyond Cinema, arrives in Pittsburgh for a week of on the river fun.

While more details will be released when tickets go on sale, the on-the-water cinema will feature between one and two “dozen mini boats.” Each boat will comfortably sit up to eight guests.

Ticket prices have not yet been announced. However, you will have to reserve an entire boat if you want to join in on the fun. Then you can invite family members and friends to fill your boat.

Renting an entire boat allows you to safely maintain social distance from those in your group and from those not in your group while you’re having fun.

All boats will also be required to maintain a safe social distance from each other.

Before you leave the shore, you’ll be treated to free popcorn for the movie. You’ll also have the opportunity to purchase other goodies and drinks.

Movies will be announced when tickets go on sale. However, expect a mix of the classics and newer films during this unique river adventure.
