If there’s one town in Nevada that can be considered the most haunted of them all, it’s most definitely Virginia City. Filled with century-old saloons and creaky old hotels, there’s more than enough ghost stories to keep you on your toes when exploring this historic community. In fact, there’s one destination that some would go as far as to say is the king of creepy: The Washoe Club. Well-known to be haunted by an assortment of spirits, the museum and saloon offer daily ghost tours and overnight investigations for paranormal enthusiasts who dare to take a closer look.

Don’t just learn about the ghostly history of the Virginia City’s Washoe Club, but experience it in the flesh by taking full advantage of the ghost hunting opportunities that the historic saloon offers.

The Washoe Club is widely regarded as one of the most historic destinations in Virginia City. Established all the way back in 1862, it’s considered the town’s oldest saloon - and that’s saying a lot considering how many old saloons you’ll find in this historic town!

Once famous for its luxurious accommodations, the Washoe Club definitely made a name for itself during the days of the Comstock Lode. It may not be the image of luxury that it used to be, but the Washoe Club is still open and serving up drinks to this very day - definitely an impressive feat.

Of course, a building this old is bound to have a few ghosts that have stuck around over the years. Instead of shying away from its haunted history, the saloon embraces it. They even offer haunted history tours daily, starting at noon and running every hour until 6:00 p.m.

The tours cost $8 for adults and $5 for children. Each guided tour is roughly 40 minutes in length and includes an in-depth walkthrough of all three floors of the Washoe Club. Photos and audio recordings are widely encouraged!

The ghost tour is an excellent way to dip your toes in the water, but hardcore paranormal enthusiasts may want to consider an overnight investigation. During this experience, you and your group will be locked down in the Washoe Club for a full investigation. Do you think you could survive the night?
