Situated in the foothills of Salt Lake City, Red Butte Garden covers 100 acres on the campus of the University of Utah. It’s the largest botanical garden in the Intermountain West, and a true gem for Utahns and visitors to enjoy. If you haven’t strolled along its paths lately, it’s time for a visit!
Red Butte Garden got its start as the State Arboretum in 1961, and it has continued to grow and develop ever since. The garden opened to the public in 1985, and it includes 21 acres of formal gardens and five miles of hiking trails.
