Over the years, local concern led to the official designation of the rock as a state petroglyph site. In 2011, a visitor’s center and interpretive trails were established on the site.

The site is open year-round, but in the winter months (October to April), you need to pick up a key from the Hot Spring State Park office in order to access the site and trails.
