Here in Minnesota, there’s a lot of competition for who makes the best burger. For decades, 5-8 Club and Matt’s Bar have competed over ownership of the famous Juicy/Jucy Lucy. In more recent years, Blue Door Pub has thrown its hat into the ring with the Blucy, a blue cheese-filled burger. Outside of the cheese-stuffed burger world, restaurants like Lions Tap in Eden Prairie and King’s Place in Miesville have each been called out for their impossibly delicious hamburgers.
We can’t say for sure who has the best burgers. But we can add another contender. In east-central Minnesota, a little-known restaurant serves up some of the most decadent burgers in the state. Crazy Mary’s Cafe is a restaurant in Finlayson, Minnesota. This little town is about 100 miles north of the Twin Cities, or 65 miles south of Duluth. It makes a great stopping point for people traveling along I-35!

The restaurant’s nondescript exterior leads to a clean, airy interior. The dining room has plenty of seating, and the staff is friendly and informative. You’ll have a nice experience from the moment you step inside.
