Minnesota is full of winter fun! From skiing and snowboarding to ice skating and fishing, snowmobiling and sledding, there are plenty of wonderful activities to keep you busy throughout the season. Today, we want to add yet another one to your list. This year, you can visit what is being called the largest ice maze in the United States right here in Minnesota. It just opened in Stillwater, and it’s a real treat. If you can’t get enough of the winter – or you miss the corn mazes of the fall – you’ll definitely want to check out this awesome activity. This year, the Ice Palace Maze in Stillwater, Minnesota, is the largest ice maze in the United States. This impressive structure in a can’t-miss-it location in the parking lot of Stillwater’s Zephyr Theatre.

The attraction is made up of 1,500 large blocks of ice painstakingly arranged into a large maze. Those who beat the maze can slide down a 36-foot ice slide!

The maze includes a half-mile of twists and turns made up of 9-foot-tall ice walls. At night, colorful lights will guide your way through the maze. It’s fun for people of all ages!

Besides the maze and the slide, there are other activities as well. Hot chocolate and s’mores will warm you up in the cold, as will an ice bar with drinks for adults!

As long as the weather stays cold, the ice maze event goes from January 22 to February 28, 2021. It’s held Tuesday-Friday 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday noon to 10 p.m.

Only 100 people are allowed in the maze at a time, and tickets are required for entry. Tickets for people aged 5 to 12 are $10, and ages $13 and up are $15. This is a wonderful way to get out and enjoy the winter!
