Just how rare is a full moon on Halloween, you ask? According to the Farmer’s Almanac, a full moon on Halloween only happens every 18 to 19 years!

Since it’s such a rare occurrence, you’ll want to make sure you step outside and really enjoy the celestial show.

The full moon on Halloween is called a Hunter’s Blue Moon, not because it’s going to be blue in color but because it’s the second full moon in a single calendar month.

So make sure while you’re out trick-or-treating this year, or celebrating Halloween dolling out candy, you look up and appreciate the second full moon of the month of October.
