This wouldn’t really be about West Virginia if I didn’t mention the West Virginia University Mountaineers. The Milan Puskar Stadium is located in Morgantown, WV.

Coopers Rock State Forest was named after a legend of a fugitive that was hiding from the law close to the overlook. He was a skilled cooper and so he made barrels and sold them to the locals.

Blackwater Falls State Park is one of the most photographed locations in the state. If you have ever seen a nature calendar or postcard about WV, it was more than likely of these falls.

Blennerhassett Island State Park, located in Parkersburg, WV, looks like it was the forest that the Big Bad Wolf followed Little Red Riding Hood.

The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, located in Weston, WV, is the largest, and by far the scariest, hand-cut stone masonry building in North America.

Spruce Knob is the highest point in the state of West Virginia. Although it is incredibly breathtaking, I wouldn’t be able to handle my ears popping.

In 1943-44, the U.S. Army used this area, Dolly Sods Wilderness, as a practice artillery and range before the troops were sent to fight in WWII.

The Seneca Caverns, which are limestone, are incredibly creepy but amazing.
