If you’ve never seen a Wilson State Park winter, you’re in for a real treat. Frost, snow, and ice make this park a wonderland. Whether the weather is what’s stopping you or the drive, we just want to shout out some appreciation for mother nature’s job well done at one of our beloved state parks. Come take a look!
We know and love Wilson State Park, but there are some things that usually keep us from venturing out into nature during the year.

Sometimes it’s the blistering sun beating down on you during days when the heat is in the 110s, but sometimes it’s the opposite. Usually, cloudy or cold weather will keep state parks empty.

However, with the right outlook, the park becomes a winter wonderland. Just look at how the snow covers things, as if it fell down all at once! Plus, the frozen lake reflects a lot easier than the choppy waters we usually get.

Plus, activities like winter hiking and wildlife spotting aren’t something you can usually do in your backyard. Our state parks need love, too!

If you’re more excited about hiking snowy trails or maybe sledding down a little hill, you’ll easily find ways to enjoy a winter state park like Wilson in the snow.

If nothing else, the nights are often clearer in the wintertime, leaving scenes like the milky way ready for long-exposure film and stargazing.
