Winter will be here before we know it, and we’re in for a doozy here in Missouri. In fact, the winter forecast for Missouri, according to the Farmers’ Almanac, is slated to be cold with above normal snowfall, a perfect forecast if you love snow and cold. If not, you’ve still got time to soak up the sun before winter officially arrives.
The Farmers’ Almanac divides the U.S. into seven zones for its weather forecasts. In the fourth zone, Missouri sits alongside nine other states, including Colorado, Montana, and Minnesota.

While winter doesn’t officially begin until December 21, the cold weather should start rolling in by early November. The Farmers’ Almanac predicts a rather quiet November with stormy weather from November 4-7 before the temperatures dip.

Cold weather is expected to blanket zone four in mid-December with some snow between December 20 and 23. Christmas doesn’t look like it will be a white one this year, at least in Missouri, if the almanac proves correct.

If you love a good snowstorm – the kind that snows you in – you just might get it in the early spring. The almanac predicts up to 18 inches of snow in Missouri, and much of zone four, March 28-31.

Fortunately, the snow will be but a memory once April rolls around. The outlook for the first full month of spring, according to the Farmers’ Almanac, includes a lot of rain and potentially severe thunderstorms toward the end of the month.
