Sometimes, whether because of the large crowds or high prices, a zoo is just too much to deal with. On the other end of the spectrum, petting zoos are typically much smaller and not really worth a visit. However, there is a place that falls somewhere between the two – and it’s Fawn-Doe-Rosa Wildlife Educational Park. Take a look:
Opened in St. Croix Falls back in 1963, visiting Fawn-Doe-Rosa Wildlife Educational Park has become a beloved tradition for many families.

And it’s no coincidence that the park is a hit with the young and old alike.

Offering an experience much different than a typical zoo, Fawn-Doe-Rosa is a hands-on zoo that allows – and even encourages – visitors to interact with the animals.

So in addition to learning all about the animals that call the park home, you can pet them and feed them.

Keep in mind that animal feed isn’t included with admission, but can be purchased for just $2.50 per bag.

With a menagerie of animals, a wildly good time is practically guaranteed. In the fenced-in farmyard, there are goats, llamas, sheep, and chickens.

Unforgettable close-up encounters are sure to ensue at the petting area, which is home to smaller critters, such as bunnies and ferrets.

There are a few caged animal exhibits, too. Thanks to these exhibits, you can safely view bobcats, badgers, coyotes, and more.

But the highlight of the park is the deer yard, which, as you’ve probably already guessed, is teeming with deer.

And since the deer meander throughout the park, there are plenty of chances for close-up encounters with the adorable creatures.

Well-maintained trails make it easy to navigate the park, and with benches scattered throughout, you can stop and rest as often as you like.

As if all of that weren’t enough, the park offers pony rides for $4.50 per child. And don’t forget about the gift shop, which carries all sorts of merchandise, including an impressive candy and fudge selection.
