Parking can easily be found at the northern end of the trail - keep in mind that roadside parking along SR 28 is prohibited. A shuttle, the East Shore Express, is also available to pick visitors up at the old Incline Elementary School or the Sand Harbor Visitors Center for just a small fee.

The first mile of the Tahoe East Shore Trail winds along the mountainside of the highway. It boasts extraordinary views of Lake Tahoe that you can’t get anywhere else. Some sections of the trail are a tad steep but never reach more than an 8% grade.

The trail features 16 different vista points so you can stop and really take in the view. Do be sure to follow proper trail etiquette by staying on the right and passing on the left when exploring the trail. Cyclists must also yield to hikers.
