If you grew up in Utah, you’ve surely eaten your share of sloppy joes – those messy sandwiches made with ground beef and a can of Manwich. They’re often served up at church dinners or by tired moms who just need to get an inexpensive meal on the table quickly.

You’d never think to look for a sloppy joe at Feldman’s Deli. It’s an incredible Jewish deli with all the traditional fare, but it has a sandwich on its menu called the “Sloppy Joe.” Order it, and you’ll get a tasty surprise.

For some of the most authentic deli you’ll ever find in Utah, head to Feldman’s Deli.

This deli is cozy and warm, and the decor is surprisingly modern for an old-school Jewish deli. If you’re dining in, you’ll definitely enjoy the vibe here.

…but the Sloppy Joe is the house specialty. You’ll notice right away that this is not the sloppy joe from your childhood. This one is piled high with corned beef and pastrami, on three slices of Jewish rye bread.

In addition to the savory meats and bread, the sandwich is topped with coleslaw and thousand island dressing - which is what makes it so messy. This is a three-napkin sandwich, but every sloppy bite is worth it!

If you have a somewhat smaller appetite, try one of Feldman Deli’s other sandwiches. This pastrami reuben looks delicious, and you can also get other sandwiches like turkey, ham, or roast beef.
