What happens when a former pizza shop employee falls in love with an avid science fiction fan who happens to be a pizza lover? An outer-spaced themed pizzeria with delicious food and friendly service, apparently. While Washington has plenty of places to get a good pizza, we’ve never seen anything quite like Zaucer’s in Redmond. Not only is the theme fantastic, but the menu is also designed to ensure every guest gets what they want.

Zaucer Pizza got its start in 2005 when owners Gayle and Aaron decided to combine their love of pizza and their love of SciFi.

Zaucer Pizza / Facebook Zaucer’s opened in Redmond in 2005, when it was known as Flying Saucer Pizza. They changed the business name a few years ago to avoid confusion after a pizzeria in another state opened under the same name.

Here’s something to look forward to for a future indoor dining experience.

Zaucer Pizza / Facebook The space-themed dining room is unique, modern, fun for the whole family, and, well, out of this world.

When you visit, keep an eye out for Piatino, the official mascot.

Zaucer Pizza / Facebook There’s even a pizza on the menu named after him. Piatino’s Luau is Zaucer’s version of a Hawaiian pizza, and it’s delightful.

The pizza dough and sauce are made fresh daily, and the ingredients are always fresh.

Zaucer Pizza / Facebook The pizzas here are individual sized for the best reason. When Aaron was growing up, he noticed that when families went out for pizza, it was often the adults that got to choose the toppings. When he worked for a tech company and would order pizza for a group, deciding on pizza toppings was more complex than the software they were building. So, to keep things simple, Zaucer pizzas are sized so everyone can have what they want.

In other restaurants, this might be a pepperoni pizza. Here, it’s a Red Planet.

While the main focus is definitely pizza, Zaucer’s also serves salads, appetizers, pasta, and a long list of beverages.
