In a state like Kansas, there’s a lot to see and do when the weather isn’t trying to kill us. For that reason, we’re always looking for new places to explore during the cooler months. Our small towns are always beautiful during the fall, so we’d like to spotlight one in particular. This charming Kansas small town makes it on the “must visit” list for sure. Though, this town would be perfect for a visit anytime. Let’s get going!
Iola is a small town in Southeast Kansas with a lot of character.

Starting with the gorgeous (and historic) Iola Theatre, where you’ll find it’s being restored to its original 1931 appearance.

There’s also the old U.S. Weather Bureau Building that were once used as a location to study and record weather observations as well as make forecasts.

Last but not least, the Southwind Rail Trail leads you over an iron bridge that’s been here since it was originally built in 1884.
