The park is located near Kathryn, North Dakota, and consists of 545 acres of grassy prairie, a lake, and a creek.

The North Country National Scenic Trail, a trail that spans from New York to North Dakota, goes through this park. There is also a scenic loop trail that’s only two miles long, offering great hiking.

The centerpiece is the Clausen Spring Lake, offering fishing and boating opportunities. The recreation area provides a fishing dock, boat ramp, and swimming area.
