It’s not hard to find beauty in the outdoors of New Hampshire. But choosing just where to enjoy it can be hard. There are so many great options, you could do a new hike each weekend and still not run out of trails to explore. And the best part is that you don’t need to venture to a far off corner of the state to find a mountainside hike. There are great (and simple) adventures to be had throughout the state and this one is a great example.
Make your way to Ramblin’ Vewe Farm in Gilford to access a surprisingly fun and easy to navigate loop trail!

Around since 1987, the farm is home to a flock of two different breeds of sheep. And 245 acres of land here have been set aside for forestry and recreational activity like hiking.

And the hiking here is truly wonderful! The farm has lots of trails, so be sure to get a map when you arrive. But one of our favorites is the three-mile Farm View Hilltop Trail.

The trails here are all well-maintained, which means their easy to follow. And this one is no exception. We especially love that it’s a loop so you’ll end up right where you began.

Accessible year-round, you’ll find a different type of beauty in every season. In the fall, the leaves are awash in color.

And the spring and summer bring lush green shade.

There are even some fun features that kids will enjoy, such as small bridges for crossing brooks.

And, as you gain slightly in elevation you’ll begin to see why this trail name includes the word “view!” You can begin seeing for miles before you’ve even reached the view.

And once you reach the edge you’ll be able to see all the way to the mountains.

Continue on after taking in the view and you’ll return to the forest setting, ultimately arriving back at the start.
Ashley Brake / alltrails.com This is a wonderful way to clear your head and enjoy some of New Hampshire’s fresh air. And, once you’ve enjoyed this trail you can choose another to explore next time.
We’re told that the trails here can get a bit confusing when they cross each other, so be sure to have a map in-hand before setting off.
