Here in Ohio, it can be difficult to choose which one of our amazing zoos is the absolute best—but fortunately for us, we don’t have to. Recently, USA Today ranked the 10 best zoos in America and Ohio’s very own Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden came in at number 2. From its wide variety of animals and fascinating history to its special events and colorful displays, it’s no wonder our beloved zoo earned such a high spot on the list.
The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden is a popular day trip destination for both local and visiting families in the Buckeye State.

During your visit, you’ll spot the iconic Reptile House, which is the oldest operating zoo building in the nation. It also dates back to 1875.

In the springtime, the Zoo Blooms event features a month-long celebration that’s a truly spectacular sight to see.

And in the wintertime, the PNC Festival of Lights transforms the zoo into a winter wonderland that features more than 4 million LED lights.
