One of the most unique and colorful road trips you can take in Louisiana is driving the Sunflower Trail in a tiny town called Gilliam.

From Shreveport, you’ll want to head north on Clyde Want Memorial Parkway which will take you right onto LA Hwy 3049 (Dixie Shreveport Road).

Every year, Gilliam hosts the annual Sunflower Festival, which draws crowds from all over and features local crafts and food.

There are several sunflower fields peppered along the drive. Most of them are located on Hwy 3049 between Shreveport and Gilliam, as well as on the Sentell Road Loop.
