USS New Jersey is a heavily decorated Iowa-class battleship that was first commissioned in 1943.

It also happens to be the only US battleship that provided gunfire support during the Vietnam War.

Like many battleships, it has seen blood and even death over the years. Though tragic, all those who served aboard this ship will be remembered as heroes. We honor their service and their sacrifice.

Still, tragedy often leads to hauntings and this ship is believed to have several spirits.
Battleship New Jersey/Facebook Ghosts allegedly include a former prisoner who whistles, a gentleman outside one of the ship’s latrines, and a somewhat aggressive (but non-violent) entity in a stairway near the Foc’sle.
You may come across one or more of these ghosts on one of Battleship New Jersey’s very special moonlight tours but you’ll definitely come across some unique sailor art.

Here’s what you need to know:
Battleship New Jersey/Facebook Guests will be given a complimentary flashlight to navigate the ship with. On your tour, you’ll learn about deaths aboard the ship, gruesome injuries, and sailor art. Some content is considered to be more adult, so be aware of this if you plan on bringing your teen. No tours are the same and your guide will cater the journey to what the tour group is interested in, mixed with some macabre stories.
There will be tours on Thursday, October 29th and Friday, October 30th. All guests must pass a health screening that includes a contactless temperature check, wear a face covering, and practice social distancing of six feet at all times.
