This short trip can be turned into a weekend getaway, or taken as a day trip.

Start off in Dubuque at the Hotel Julien. If you’re turning this into a longer trip, spend a night here before hitting the road!

Flickr / Dirk DBQ This house is one of the most haunted spots in Iowa. It was built in 1856 and at least four members of the Ham family died in the home. One was murdered by an intruder in the middle of the night. To this day, visitors have reported strange sounds, lights flashing, and a lamplight moving through the house after dark.
