There are a lot of ways to satisfy a sweet tooth here in Maine. Whether it’s whoopie pies you love or any other sugar-filled concoction, Mainers certainly know how to make the best. But, of all the sweet treats here, it’s the state’s local ice cream we love the most. The only problem? It can be hard to find once the summer has ended. But there’s good news! We found a shop in southern Maine that offers their goodies up all year and we can’t wait to visit!
Located in Biddeford’s Pepperell Center, Sweetcream Dairy offers some of the best handmade, locally-crafted ice cream in New England. And we absolutely love that they’re open all year!

We also love that this family-run little scoop shop uses ingredients that are sourced from Maine farms and producers as much as possible. That means we’re supporting our sweet tooth while also supporting the local economy.

The shop offers an indoor seating area where you’ll have plenty of room to spread out and enjoy your treat.

But we love that they recently created a takeout window which makes for easy grabbing of the goods.

But, most of all we simply love what they create. Their flavors are both traditional and unique.

And you won’t find anything that’s overly processed. Instead, Sweetcream Dairy pasteurize their own ice cream mix which means no industrial ingredients such as gums, emulsifiers and artificial flavorings.

The ingredient list here is simple and we love knowing that, if we’re going to indulge, we’re being as good to ourselves as possible.

But that doesn’t mean they don’t have fun! We love the Lucky Charms dish they served for St. Patty’s Day last year. And we appreciate that flavors are always changing.
