You might have watched Friday the 13th when the superstitious date and full moon coincided recently, but this Halloween, America’s most infamous campground massacre is coming to life. Enter the dense Arizona wilderness and prepare to be chased by a machete-wielding madman wearing a hockey mask. Will you make it out alive?
We all know the story of what happened at Camp Crystal Lake, but movies don’t hold a candle to lived experience. Survive Jason lets you bear witness to the gruesome events of Friday the 13th and (hopefully) live to tell the tale.

On October 5 and 19, those who are brave enough can enter the Arizona wilderness and prepare to be chased by a machete-wielding madman. It’s a live-action role-playing event, meaning you’ll assume the character of a terrified victim and attempt to escape the killer’s clutches.

Flagstaff’s Dairy Springs Campground is where the first game takes place. Remote and isolated, we couldn’t imagine a better — or worse, depending on how you look at it — place to be hunted.

You’ll find Dairy Springs Campground 24 miles southeast of Flagstaff near Lake Mary. The GPS coordinates are: 34°57'22.4"N, 111°28'55.5"W.

Two weeks later, Turney Gulch Campground will endure Jason’s wrath. It’s hidden deep within the Prescott National Forest where nobody can hear you scream.

To access the campground from Crown King, take FR 259A south for 0.5 miles until reaching the junction with FR 52. Follow that road southeast for approximately 6 miles, and your destination is just northeast of Horsethief Lake.
