Have you ever looked at someone’s home and just stared, thinking to yourself, “Hey, that’s really weird!” Well, that’s exactly what Samuel Dinsmoor, a Kansas Civil War vet, wanted people to think when they wandered past his home in Lucas, Kansas, one of the strangest places you can visit in the state.
In the early 1900s, Dinsmoor transformed his house by creating a bizarre collection of biblical and political concrete sculptures outside his home and called it art, charging people to see his array of uh, eye-catching statues. And art is not all you can find at this roadside attraction. The Garden Of Eden also allows you to see the room where Dinsmoor himself died as well as his actual body. Yup.
The Garden Of Eden, a collection of concrete art, is easily one of the strangest places you can visit in Kansas.

While it’s home to a lot of strange biblical folk art, you can also see the creator’s body in the museum: Samuel Dinsmoor specifically requested he be laid to rest in a glass coffin here.

“None except my widow, my descendants, their husbands and wives, shall go in to see me for less than $1," he wrote in his will.

The art surrounding the home is all biblical-themed, as you likely guessed from the name.

Yes, this here is the Devil. You can see it now, right?

It’s also got a lot of patriotic themes.

Some of the art doesn’t exactly make sense.

Luckily, you can take a guided tour to get a better sense of what the heck you’re looking at when you visit the Garden of Eden.

It doesn’t get any weirder than the Garden of Eden.
