Colonial Ghost Decades ago, two young boys who lived at Salubria were asked to get more sugar from the barrel upstairs. In the dim light, they walked upstairs and were shocked to make out the dim figure of a woman with jet black hair, dressed in white with outstretched arms.
Many believe the spirit belongs to Lady Spotswood, one of the home’s first residents.

The town was established after a shipwreck off the coast of the Atlantic. Sailors came ashore and, unsure what else to do, decided to build a community using cypress wood and pieces of the ship. The fascinating part about Wash Woods is although there haven’t been many reports about paranormal activity, there’s an undeniably unsettling feeling when you visit. Old tombstones, crumbling structures, and the fact that there are no roads leading out lend a bone-chilling feeling to this former Virginia community.
