If someone asked us to create the most perfectly Wisconsin spot, we’re not sure we could have created anything better than Sister Bay Bowl. This gorgeous old building used to house a hotel, but today it’s a one-stop shop for killer cocktails, an amazing fish fry and of course a few frames of bowling. That’s right, this supper club and bowling alley in Wisconsin perfectly sums up everything that we love about living in this great state. You’ll find yourself returning to this special destination again and again.
This historic building was once the Sister Bay Hotel. But in 1950, the Williams family purchased the Sister Bay Hotel and started welcoming visitors. In 1958, Earl and Rita tore down the dance hall (a Saturday night hot spot for locals) and built a six-lane bowling alley. In 1964, they opened the supper club. Now, the third generation of this family is serving up one of the most awesome and amazing combination spots in Wisconsin.

It certainly doesn’t get more Wisconsin than a supper club, corner bar and bowling alley all combined into one. Come for the Fish Fry and then stay to bowl a few games. Every kids’ meal even comes with a free game of bowling!

In the summer months, plan to end your night outside enjoying their gorgeous outdoor bar and patio that often features live music. If you’ve never thought of a one-stop shop that covers all your evening’s entertainment and dining needs, you’re going to be in for a surprise at Sister Bay Bowl.

The tagline here is “Come for the food, stay for the fun” and it’s pretty fitting. There’s nowhere else in the state quite like this place. It should be a Wisconsin institution as it combines all kinds of state standards. The food is delicious and well-priced, though there is often a wait to get a table.

That’s ok, though, as there’s the kind of bar that makes you want to sit down and stay awhile as you sip on a perfect Old Fashioned. It’s warm and cozy and welcoming and chock full of friendly people. Despite being both a bowling alley bar and the supper club’s bar, it’s also a wonderful little neighborhood spot where friends meet and relax.

Even if bowling isn’t on your menu for the night, you’ll still want to head to Sister Bay Bowl for some of the best supper club food in the area. These folks aren’t taking any short cuts. They’ve been doing this for 60 years and there’s still a line on the weekends, so you know they’re doing things right. This isn’t just a novelty, this is a Door County institution serving up broasted chicken, fish fry, prime rib, surf and turf and more to the lucky locals who visit each night.

Settle in with a cocktail, dig deep in your brain to remember how to manually score a bowling game and settle in for some old-school Wisconsin fun. These lanes used to be the hotel dance hall, so you know the walls have more stories than we can imagine. There’s history here and you’re going to want to add your name to the pages.
