There are lots of longstanding burger joints in Wisconsin. However, there’s only one that has a reputation for serving some of the state’s finest charcoal-grilled sandwiches – and it’s Mihm’s Charcoal Grill. Its revered status isn’t too surprising, though, as Mihm’s has been in the business of grilling for decades. Take a look:
Mihm’s Charcoal Grill opened in Menasha in 1958…or 1957. The verdict is still out on the actual year the eatery opened, but there’s no denying that it’s been well received since day one.

Aside from moving from its original location to its current location in 1979, Mihm’s has remained virtually unchanged since its establishment.

And according to the owner, the nostalgic digs are a big part of the restaurant’s charm.

Free of frills and fancy décor, the eatery is old-school all the way, right down to its countertop seating and simple black-and-white menus.

The owner went as far as referring to Mihm’s as “really plain.”

However, even if the surroundings were extremely elaborate, you wouldn’t notice because the food is amazing, especially the hamburgers and steak burgers.

In fact, the burgers have garnered several Best of the Valley awards.

It’s the quality of the hamburgers that really sets Mihm’s apart. You won’t find any pink slime or soy mixed into the burgers at Mihm’s.

You can even dress up your burger with all the typical toppings and a few not-so-typical toppings, like fried eggs.

And to top it off, the burgers are served on hard rolls, which are drenched in butter. (Is your mouth watering yet?!)

The menu is made up of more than burgers, though. There are also homemade soups, sandwiches, fish dinners, a slew of sides, and more.
