In a wonderful turn of events, a solar storm this week is making it possible for all of Michigan to get a peek at the Northern Lights tonight and possibly even Friday night, too. The year 2020 has doled out some difficult times, but the year will be ending on a high note this week when the Northern Lights make a surprise appearance above Michigan.

To see the Northern Lights, your best bet is to find a spot that’s as dark and free of light pollution as possible. Then turn your gaze toward the north just above the horizon.
