The trail is traditionally hiked in a 7.4-mile loop.

Alina S / AllTrails It’s flat and easy to hike, with only 54 feet in elevation gain for the whole trail. However, the sand can be deep in areas when you hit the sand dunes, and if it’s been rainy lately you will come across puddles in the marsh that you will have to cross.

Depending on the time of year you visit, you may come across the annual turtle crossing.
