This two-for-one lake has plenty of spots for recreation both on and off the water. The most scenic of these areas is Sandy Beach! We’ll comb over this beach and explore a few more gorgeous pieces of paradise while we’re here at Greers Ferry.

Greers Ferry Lake is a massive reservoir in Central Arkansas near Heber Springs.

One particularly scenic spot is on the lower southeast side of the lake.

Google/David Jones Sandy Beach is a park unlike any other in Arkansas. If it weren’t for the lack of palm trees you may think you’ve been transported to a coastline!

This Sandy Beach is will be a family favorite for sure.

Google/Casey Crocker The water of Greers Ferry is some of the cleanest in the nation which means you can enjoy splashing, snorkeling, swimming, or shoreside sunbathing.

The beach is also one of the few in Arkansas to have the perfect building material for sand castles.

Google/Noe Correa Not only does Sandy Beach live up to its name it also offers plenty of space to build towering sand castles.

Further east on the lake is another spot to jump into fun.

Google/Brittany Gulley Lace Jonas These natural diving boards are found along the Dam Site Recreation Area. This certainly isn’t the only other must-visit on the lake but it’s one of our favorites. The nearby camping and easy access marina can easily turn this afternoon dip into a weekend retreat.

You could also hop aboard a boat for an island getaway!

Facebook/Greers Ferry Lake If the sandy shoreline wasn’t enough, then pay a visit to Sugar Loaf Mountain! The island features one of the nation’s first designated National Scenic Trails. The stair-studded pathway features a breathtaking panoramic of the shoreside and mountains across the lake.
