Sacred Rim Trail Is An Easy Hike Near Pinedale Wyoming

Whether you’re traveling and looking for an acclimation hike in Wyoming, or you’re a resident looking for an easier day hike, this easy hike near Pinedale is sure to become one of your all-time favorite adventures.

You’ll find the Sacred Rim Trail off the beaten path, east of Fremont Lake and south of Long Lake on the edges of the Bridger Wilderness

This 4 mile trail is fairly easy by Wyoming standards - the steepest portion of the trek is just under a mile in, and brings you up a few hundred feet in elevation. The total elevation gain on the hike is only 636 feet.

As you do get higher into the forest, you’ll start to notice the canyon coming into view.

Finding the rim trail can be a little tricky, so look for a cairn where the trail splits from the Pole Creek trail. Occasionally, fallen trees block the marker from view.

You’ll find the Pole Creek / Sacred Rim Trailhead at the end of Skyline Drive in Pinedale. Some GPS systems may be able to bring you to the Pole Creek Trailhead or Trail’s End Campground, or you can use the GPS Address Forest Rd 740, Pinedale, WY 8294.
