Family togetherness is on the rise (thanks to the pandemic) so why not load up the car and head to Cottageville, South Carolina, for a fun-filled day of unique animal encounters with creatures that are adorable, friendly, and most of all, lovable? If you haven’t discovered the goodness at Bee City, a honey bee farm and zoo in South Carolina, then you’ve really been missing out!

Bee City launched over 30 years ago as a honey bee farm and has grown into a full-fledged zoo that’s fun for the entire family.

Unlike most other zoos, Bee City is more hands-on, giving visitors a chance to interact with many of the affable creatures in the zoo. You’ll chuckle at their cuteness and crazy antics.

In addition to the zoo, the facility also has a honey shop with some of the best pure honey you can buy, as well as an on-site cafe that makes scrumptious pizza, wings, chicken tenders, and hot dogs.

And the best part, other than it being open year-round (except for a few holidays), is that admission is set at an affordable $12. You can also purchase an annual pass for $95 and visit as often as you like.

Rave reviews across the Internet concur that Bee City is worthy of a visit. Head over to the Outback to view a mob of kangaroos. This eager and over friendly lot will have you smiling the rest of the day.

There’s much to explore at Bee City. Take your time and even plan to stay for a bite to eat at lunch. Make a second pass through, or finish exploring the zoo after you finish.

You’ll find a wide variety of creatures in the zoo, including the South American Capybaras (seen below).
