Welcome to the Pineland Public Reserve Land located about four miles from the center of Gray.

This beautifully wooded area offers more than 600 acres of open space with land that’s totally undeveloped.

It’s the perfect place to explore the forest of Maine throughout the year. While some trails are best accessed in the spring and summer, this area is wonderful year-round. In fact, with its frozen waterways and snow-covered trees, it might be even more special in the winter.

There are two main routes to explore making up just over 3 miles of loop trails. Check out the 1.7-mile North Loop Trail if you’re up for the challenge of some steeper slopes leading to the Royal River.

Or check out the 1.5-mile South Loop Trail which is a bit gentler. This route leads through the woods and includes more gentle slopes.
