As you may have recently read, our very own Fort Collins was just named one of the best places to live in America (and we couldn’t agree more), which may have you ready to pack your bags and move north. While we love FoCo, there is another Colorado city that just earned the same distinction, only this time it is a small(ish) and charming south Denver suburb.

Welcome to Parker, Colorado, which was just named the second-best place to live in America!

Recently released by Money is their list of The Best Places to Live in America, which cites Parker’s “breathtaking views and plenty of proximity to wildlife, with foxes, deer, and wild turkeys regularly roaming backyards.”

In addition to the gorgeous views and wildlife sightings, Money’s list goes on to talk about the city’s close proximity to Denver, as well as an unemployment rate less than the national average, plus “top marks” in such categories as Economy and Income and Health and Safety.

While we happen to think that Parker is the only possible place to move to, Money does go on to mention other stellar communities, including Evans, Georgia (#1), Rockwall, Texas (#4), and Franklin, Tennessee (#8, pictured).

Incorporated in 1981, Parker may be relatively young, but quickly grew in popularity as a commuter town and currently boasts a population of 57,706.

Although it was not officially incorporated until the early 1980s, Parker’s history dates back not only several generations but to the Plains Woodland peoples who began inhabiting the nearby Franktown Cave around 6,400 BC.

In addition to its ample history, Parker is also a great place to be for several other reasons, including one of the best school systems in the country, unique shopping and dining, and outdoor recreational opportunities galore.
