Editor’s Note: The building was demolished in 2019 but you can take a look at the photos and video below to see what once stood at this spot in Detroit. The Northville Psychiatric Hospital opened in 1952 and was considered one of the finest facilities in the country for treating psychiatric patients. Alas, 50 years later the place shuttered, but left behind a disturbing, and possibly other-worldly presence. The facility now sits derelict and subject to trespassers who are curious to see this haunting place....

‘Tis the season for haunted houses, spooky stories, and all things eerie. And since Rhode Island is one of the country’s oldest states, there’s definitely a haunted history here.
