Rugged, rocky, and a bit steep at times, Old Settler’s Trail is far from the easiest hike in Wisconsin. In fact, it may be among the most difficult. However, the strenuous trek is completely worth it since it leads to amazing vistas that seem to go on forever. Take a look:

Of the more than 20 miles of trails that fill the park, Old Settler’s Trail is one of the most popular, which probably has something to do with the fact that it’s brimming with incredible sights and vistas.

Rated as moderate to difficult, the 2.5-mile loop trail features several heart-pounding climbs. Overall, there’s a 541-foot elevation gain.
