When it comes to hidden gems, Wisconsin never ceases to amaze! We’ve got yet another secret spot for you to add to your bucket list: Kinstone. Basically our very own Stonehenge, Kinstone is a 30-acre plot of land brimming with stone sculptures and natural buildings. Oh, and did we mention the incredible views? Read on to learn all about this amazing attraction.

Quite possibly one of the state’s best-kept secrets, Kinstone is hiding in the tiny town of Fountain City.

Like Stonehenge, Kinstone is a megalithic site, which basically means it’s made out of stones. However, unlike Stonehenge, Kinstone is modern, rather than pre-historic.

There are several stone structures scattered about the property.

In addition to three stone circles, there’s a labyrinth, many standing stones, a dolmen (a type of single-chamber megalithic tomb), and more.

Several interesting structures can also be found on the property, including a thatched cordwood chapel.

Dubbed the Chapel of Creation, colorful stones, which represent the natural elements, adorn the interior. Green and brown stones depict trees, while the blue stones represent the Mississippi River.

Kinstone is open seasonally, May 1st through October 31st from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Admission is $5 per person.

Visiting between November 1st and April 30th isn’t completely out of the question, though. Exceptions can be made for pre-arranged visits. Also, Kinstone is available as a venue for special events.
