Depending where you live, animals may tend to avoid the areas you’re around. Especially if there are a lot of busy roads that can be dangerous. Fortunately, Kentucky is home to sprawling acres and acres of lush forestry for animals to roam free. But sometimes, when an injury or accident occurs, these animals could use a little bit of TLC, and that’s where this amazing animal sanctuary comes in.

If you consider yourself an animal lover, then you’ll love Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary.

Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 2002 by former Kentucky state legislator, Mary Ann Tobin.

Ultimately, their goal is to rehab these sick or injured and animals and then be able to safely release them into the wild when they’re healthy enough.

Broadbent offers scheduled tours by appointment only and they typically take place between 11 am - 2 pm. (Hey, the animals need their beauty sleep just as much as we do!)

On these tours, you can see marvelous animals up close, but at a distance that’s safe and comfortable for both the animal and you.

The baby rescues are usually the most adorable ones at the sanctuary…

But Houdini, the rescued goat, is quite the star himself too.
