The town works hard to bring everything together before the festivities, and there’s plenty of work to go around. Every year in the winter, Lindsborg transforms into a stunning winter village.

A big part of the season is the St. Lucia Festival, held the second Saturday each December. It’s held to honor Lucia, who steered a ship full of light and food to save the people of Sweden from starvation.

The festivities start with a pancake feed, but include folk dancing, bake sales, and more. They have plenty to do, and plenty to show!

Lucia Day (the crowning of a girl chosen from town to be the honorary Lucia), Julotta (a morning pre-Christmas church service) and an old fashioned Christmas celebration. There’s a lot going on, and the whole month is packed with excitement.
