Michigan is home to so many talented chefs and amazing restaurants it’s sometimes hard to choose, right? How about a restaurant that’s out of the way, maybe even considered “remote” due to its unique location? There are probably many remote restaurants in Michigan, but Legs Inn in Michigan is particularly worth the journey. Prepare your taste buds for absolute excellence!

Cross Village Township in Michigan has the distinction of enveloping more than 10 square miles and having a population of only about 300 souls. That’s a lot of room to spread your wings. But that’s not all Cross Village has going for it. There are a couple more “biggies” that make this spot in the mitten worth seeking out and purposely spending some quality time there.

Cross Village also has the distinction of being at the end of Michigan’s famed M-119, a.k.a. the “Tunnel of Trees.” Popular in autumn for the incredible foliage colors, the “Tunnel of Trees” leads you right to Cross Village and a restaurant that would be so worth the journey even without the Tunnel of Trees to gawk at along the way.

The Legs Inn is a landmark in these parts and deservedly so. It’s been in the same family for more than 90 years and is one of the most unique “destination restaurants” you’ll encounter in Michigan.

You’ll also find some American dishes as well, but with a twist of old-world technique.

Trip Advisor/Terry T Locally-caught Great Lakes Whitefish is a fan favorite, but there are many lovely options on the menu at Legs Inn in Michigan. Buffalo cauliflower offers a yummy way to start off any meal, and the (Almost) Chicago-Style Dog is an all-American delicacy.

And desserts that will make you wish you’d saved room for a second dessert!

Yelp/Melissa P. Try Polish-style crepes, a fruit pierogi, and other old-school and modern favorites at Legs Inn.
