In terms of neighborhood Christmas lights in North Carolina, McAdenville’s ChristmasTown USA is probably most notable each year. But for those who live on the coast, there’s no need to travel over to McAdenville for a neighborhood lights show guaranteed to impress. Lake Linda’s Christmas Lights are found just north of Topsail and Hampstead and east of Surf City and are absolutely adored by those who make an annual pilgrimage to see them.

Just eight miles north of Hampstead, Lake Linda is a small lake and community found right off Highway 17 behind the Bojangles (we’ve provided a map below).

Typically a private property that even has a gate during the rest of the year, Lake Linda’s property owners go all-out during the holidays and invite the public to come enjoy their lighted decor.

While you can play it safe this year and simply drive through the lights (for free, we might add!) you can also park and get out to walk around, if you desire.

The owners just ask to be respectful and social distance your family from others with a six-foot allowance.

There will be many opportunities to snap a favorite holiday photo or two.
